I reached for the bough of a tree,
It trembled in pain.
When I reached for the branch,
The trunk started to weep.
When I embraced the trunk,
The soil under my feet shuddered,
The rocks groaned.
Once I bent down and picked up a handful of dust,
In its entirety, Kurdistan screamed.
